Uploading files on the web portal
Besides the mobile app, you can upload your driver-card .ddd files to your TachoData account straight from the web portal — from any computer, without a card reader connected to a phone. This is handy when the .ddd file is already on your computer, for example from a desktop card reader.
How to upload
On your files page the Upload a file panel sits at the top:
- Click Choose file and pick the
.dddfile from your computer. - The file name appears next to the button and the Upload button becomes active.
- Click Upload. After a short wait the file appears in the list below.
Which files are accepted
Only files that actually contain driver-card data are accepted. The portal checks the content of the file, not its name or extension — so the file may be renamed to anything. The maximum size is 1 MB. Files that are not tachograph data are rejected right in your browser, before anything is sent.
After the upload
The driver-card number is read from the file itself, so it works with every country's card regardless of the file name. Processing takes about 1–2 minutes; while it runs the row shows processing… and the list refreshes on its own. Once done, the card number appears and you can generate the infringement report and the attendance sheet from the same page.
If you upload the same file again, the portal tells you it is already in the system. As with the mobile app, one account is bound to one driver card per month.
